The History of Hutching School, Talegaon:

Since the year 1981, when the Methodist Church in India became an autonomous and affiliated body; the institution grew further in strength and stature under the leadership of Indian church leaders. From 1990 onward, many projects have been executed under the partnership between the Methodist Church in India (MCI) and Korean Churches by initiation of Rev. C. T. Baek and Rev. James Kumar. Under the partnership the MRC (Mumbai Regional Conference) and GPI (Good People International, Korea) proposed the School and Hostel Project at Talegaon at the time of Bishop Aggarwal. The groundbreaking ceremony was done by Rev. Dr. David Yonggi Cho, the founder of GPI and an Emeritus Pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church, Korea on February 5, 2002, along with Bishop Aggarwal, all the district superintendents, pastors, and local church members. The first president of the GPI, Elder Byung Hoon Lee, and the Board CEO, Rev. Younghoon Lee, in charge of Yoido Full Gospel Church, Republic of Korea generously began to support and then Mumbai Regional Conference started to construct the school and hostel building under the Memorandum of Understanding in partnership. All the leaders had shared the vision of School as mentioned in the monument “If you have a cherished vision, the vision will lead you. Hope and pray for achieving that vision. Put your faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ and give thanks in all circumstances. Above all, trusts in the Lord and go into all the nations for sharing the Good News. I wish you will be respectable leader who recites HIS Gospel to ends of the earth.”

Church in India for the Glory of God:

After commencement of construction work started from the 5th February, 2002, all the bishops have concentrated and planned the school building project with the different perspective to start an English medium school. Furthermore, contributions were made by GPI under the leadership of Elder Mr. Byung Hoon Lee, then the president of GPI, Korea. And various contribution has also been done by many elders of Yoido Full Gospel Church, Rev. C.T. Baek, pastor of Bombay Korean Church as the project manager and Rev. Wesley Cho of Korean Methodist Church, and Hutchings High School and Junior College, Pune. We remember and appreciate their contribution and prayer support with gratitude.

However, the school building was not fully completed for use till 2009. At this juncture the then Bishop of MRC formed the committee along with Hutchings High School and Junior College, Pune adapted the project and completed the building project and started its branch as Hutchings High School, Talegaon.
